The Author's Thoughts on the Book: This is one of my most personal novels. I poured my entire soul into it, and if I never wrote anything else, that would be fine because this novel completely defines me. I hope to evoke a genuine emotional response in the reader; I certainly shook myself to the core while writing it.

However, their journey to the refuge unveils a harrowing secret.
